AUTOMOTIVE RE-USE, REMANUFACTURE, RECYCLE

ABOUT US

Sustainable automotive recycling: protecting the environment by reducing waste to landfill and reducing carbon emissions by extending the life cycle of vehicles and their parts.

About Us

Established in 1946, Silverlake is a family run business with customer service at the heart of its values. We operate a full-service salvage solution covering the whole of the UK. As proud members of e2e, we are co owners of SalvageMarket.co.uk (the UK’s largest Auction network). In 2025 we processed over 36,000 vehicles (for auction, dismantling or end-of-life), supplying approximately £10m of recycled parts back to the industry whilst saving over 33,000 tons of CO2.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give confidence to our customers through competitive pricing, excellent customer service and the provision of quality-graded reclaimed parts. We are proud to have won national and regional industry awards including in 2024, ATF Pro (Salvage Company of the Year) and ABP Repairers Choice (Green Parts Provider of the Year). Our customers include Insurers, Local Authorities. Police and Emergency Services

We thrive in a scalable, commercially viable, circular economy, responding to the difficulties faced by motor insurers, bodyshops, garages, fleet managers, motor racing teams and the general public.

Over the past few years have invested heavily in our future, including significant investment in technology,  our vehicle fleet, equipment and our premisses. We are in the process of opening hubs across the UK.   We have a planning application in progress for a £25m expansion to our head office which includes a state-of-the-art reverse production line (for dismantling and end-of-life vehicle processing).  This high tech Salvage facility will become one the largest and most efficient in Europe.

Technology Driven

We are the only independent Salvage Company in the UK to build and develop our technology in house.  This allows us to deliver bespoke products tailored to our customers needs.

We are big enough to serve your needs, but small enough to understand the importance of your business.

We are strongly committed to Circular Economy. Click the image to know more

Combined with our partner network, we have over half a million parts in stock, all electronically traceable to their source. Inventoried parts are housed in our storage & distribution centre. Our existing facility is one of the largest in the UK. However, we do not rest on our laurels and to further improve our capabilities, we are currently building an additional facility to increase our capacity.

Using state of the art technology, we identify which parts to harvest from each vehicle. We trade on our hard-won reputation, and take great care to photograph, describe, inventory and barcode every item we remove.

The Process

The Decision-Making Unit at Silverlake determines the route a salvage vehicle will follow on arrival at site.  According to a vehicle’s salvage code it will either be dismantled for parts or re-marketed for sale on the company’s online auction. The company uses data and analytics combined with market intelligence to ensure it is sourcing the vehicles and models which meet customers’ parts needs and market demand.  Parts are dismantled carefully to maintain the best possible condition.

Accuracy, Transparency, Quality

Once the parts are dismantled, they are cleaned thoroughly to make sure any faults are visible before the quality assurance process begins. After the part has been cleaned the technician examines it for any visible imperfections. This is an important step of the process to assure the quality of the parts and the true damage is visible

The technician carries out a paint depth check across the entire part to detect if the part has had previous damage and been repaired which will affect its quality grading. Parts provided will be stripped in line with the customers requirements.

For us is very important that our customers do not have any surprise when receiving our parts. Knowing the full condition of our parts, allows them to make the best decision for their repairs and they can consider it in the repair process. Silverlake also uses recycled materials to wrap and package parts, ensuring that they are protected during transit and arrive with the customer in the expected condition

Silverlake has a large fleet of delivery vans to deliver all our parts nationwide using its own fleet or trusted couriers. A hub in the Midlands is used to receive batch deliveries via transporter to reduce mileage and carbon emissions. Deliveries for our Premium Bodyshop Service customers are treated as priority, because we know the time is key for our Bodyshop repairers

All our vans has been adapted to carry body panels safely to assure that they won’t be damage during the transit. For our Premium Bodyshop Service customers we are also committed to collect any part, if for any reason, a return needs to be done to make our customer experience hassle free.

ESG and Our Regional Community

We are committed to supporting our regional community and giving back wherever possible. We have partnered with Global’s Make Some Noise [GMS] to support small charities in our area with our U-Donate-A-Car scheme.

People selling their vehicles to us have the option of donating some, or all, of the money to charity and we handle all the necessary paperwork and collect the vehicle for free. Via our stadium sponsorship of Eastleigh FC, we support the Club to maintain its facilities for the local community and their after school football clubs and a disability football programme.

We invest in supporting the education of young people in the community by providing local colleges with free vehicles for training courses and offering shadowing opportunities with our dismantlers to automotive engineering students.

We sponsor Blue Lamp Trust, a registered charity which provides a free home safety and security survey for the vulnerable in the community, assessing the work needed to make their home safe and secure free of charge. And of course we love attending and supporting the regional community events such as the Curdridge Country Show and school fetes.

Green partnerships

We enjoy a number of green partnerships with key automotive organisations and agencies developing new ideas and improvements for the recycling industry. We recycle over 96% of every car we process at our Authorised Treatment Facility in Hampshire, and we are committed to actively reducing our carbon footprint in every area of the business.
