The community event, taking place on Saturday, 18 July, at Silverlake’s Shedfield site, will raise funds for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance while helping local motorists tackle the rising cost of keeping their cars on the road.

 

With household budgets under increasing pressure, thousands of motorists are turning to recycled vehicle parts as a more affordable alternative to buying new.

Every part reused also delivers environmental benefits by reducing waste and avoiding the need to manufacture new replacement components, supporting a more sustainable circular economy.

Visitors will have the chance to browse one of the South’s largest self-service automotive recycling yards, home to more than 300 vehicles at any one time, offering everything from mirrors and lights to doors, bonnets and mechanical parts at heavily discounted prices.

 

There will also be free battery health checks, complimentary pizza and expert help from Silverlake’s team to assist people in finding and removing the parts they need.

 

For more than 75 years, Silverlake has been helping generations of Hampshire families keep their vehicles running safely and affordably, with the U-Pick-It yard becoming something of a local institution.
