Our tyre inspections, including spare tyres as standard, are designed to give you complete confidence.  They include overall condition, tread depth, tyre load rating, tyre balancing, any uneven wear and tear that may indicate poor wheel alignment and pressures, plus tyre stepping which can indicate poor suspension damping.  Wheels are also checked for signs of buckling.

The legal limit for tyre tread depth is 1.6mm.  We advise customers to consider replacing tyres between 2-3mm tread depth, to ensure you have as much tyre performance as possible in all conditions.

We stock tyres to suit all budgets and motoring needs, available at site and online.  You can choose new tyres from brands like Michelin or Colway remoulds. We also stock part worn tyres which can save you up to 70% on RRP of new tyres.  We’ve been supplying part worn tyres for over 30 years, proudly providing customers with this cost effective, quality tested, environmentally friendly option; helping to reduce their motoring costs.

What is a Part Worn Tyre?

Part-worn tyres are in use every day. If you buy a second-hand vehicle and don’t immediately replace the tyres, you are, in effect, buying part-worn tyres.  At Silverlake, we process salvage vehicles for insurers and fleet companies.  A car may have been in an accident making it uneconomical or unsafe to repair, but have tyres with thousands of miles left in them.  We remove and inspect the condition of the tyres; pressure test them to expose any hidden defects and determine if they are suitable for resale.  Tyres that have previous puncture repairs are automatically dismissed.  Only tyres with a minimum of 6mm tread depth meet our resale standards, ensuring good tyre life for our customers.

We will fit and balance your newly purchased tyre(s) while you wait, taking care to ensure you get the best tyre performance.  All tyres are torqued to manufacturer recommendations, with a free retorque available to you after 50 miles.
